A few weeks on from the Better Boards Conference in Cairns, we’re still reflecting on the conversations, connections and insights we brought home with us.
The conference brought together board members, CEOs and leaders from across the not-for-profit sector, creating a great opportunity to hear firsthand about the challenges organisations are navigating.
At the Next Dimension Accounting stand, many of our conversations came back to similar themes – funding pressures, rising costs, financial sustainability, better reporting for boards, and finding smarter ways to operate with limited resources.
It reinforced what we see every day working alongside NFPs: strong financial management is about much more than reporting on what has already happened. It’s about giving leaders and boards the clarity and confidence to plan for what comes next.
We also enjoyed plenty of conversations about financial modelling, outsourced finance support, technology and automation, and what organisations need from their finance function as they grow and change.
Most importantly, it was a fantastic opportunity to connect face-to-face with so many passionate people working to make an impact in their communities.
A big thank you to the Better Boards team and everyone who stopped by to meet us in Cairns. We came home with new connections, fresh ideas and an even greater understanding of the issues facing the sector.
